Archiving and Sharing Web Pages

If you want to share a web page with the users of HowardCC.fyi that is likely to be altered or removed from the internet altogether, follow these instructions to make a permanent archived copy of the web page that can be shared without fear of it changing or disappearing.

Step-by-step Instructions

1. Get the link to the original page

* Open the webpage you want to share.

* Copy the full URL from your browser's address bar.

2. Visit the archive.today site

* Go to: https://archive.today

3. Save the page

* Paste the URL you copied into the field at the top where it says:
"My url is alive and I want to archive its content".
* Click the Save button.

* Wait while the site loads the page - this may take 10-60 seconds depending on the web page size.

4. Get the permanent archive link

* Once done, archive.today will display your archived snapshot.

* In your browser's address bar you'll see a new URL - something like:
https://archive.ph/AbC123
* Copy the full URL from your browser's address bar - it's the permanent version you can share.

5. Sharing tips

* The snapshot is static - videos, comments, and interactive widgets may not work.

* Keep the short archive link handy in case the original site goes offline.
